Wow, nice! What's the stats on the type of files?
Personally, I just went past 80,000 files in my library (all lossless FLAC music files) so hopefully in a few years my odometer will roll over too.
The composition is as follows:
61,000 music files, 36,000 of which are .FLAC, and 25,000 .mp3s. There are about 30,000 images and home movies, and about 4,100 Video Files.
I try to buy or rip to FLAC whenever possible, but I have some older rips that I can no longer re-rip (because of disk damage) and digital downloads are rarely available in FLAC (for the kinds of music I'm buying).
I'm jealous. That must be approaching a full year of continuous listening. Out of curiosity (and not at all meaning to be nasty), what proportion have you listened to at least once? If your collection started out as CDs which you ripped, there have to be some in there you ripped but will never again listen to (e.g. Boris Godunov in my case).
Only 177 days of music, so I've got a ways to go before I hit a year. To your "have you listened to it" question, of the 61,000 music files, about 10,000 are from my wife's CD collection (she was a musician and music teacher long ago and far away and built up a medium-sized CD collection). I haven't listened to most of her stuff even once, but she listened to all of it at some point.
Of the 51,000 that are mine, I've definitely listened to everything at least once at some point. Most of my collection is CD rips, and there are definitely a handful that I haven't listened to since I ripped them, but everything has gotten at least one listen either pre or post rip. Most of the collection got my standard 1-2-3 listening method. I always try to listen 1 album, in at least 2 different contexts (speakers, headphones, or car), across 3 full listens. If I still don't like it after that, I feel like I've given it a chance.
There are a handful of albums I keep around specifically because they are bad, so I can put them on to demonstrate certain kinds of peculiar badness. I may have only ever listened to those all the way through once, but choice tracks do get played periodically.
