Hi all,

Any tips on getting this working are welcome.  I've tried removing and recreating the DLNA server with XBox 360 settings to no avail.  In most circumstance when attempting to either fast forward or use the sync function either from JRiver or the Xbox nothing happens.  I'm using JRiver version 21.

There is a known weakness in MC whereby it does not properly support UPnP:Seek on some stream output formats, and/or on some types of renderers.

What media are you streaming (audio / video) and in which format (original format, transcoded to format)?

Some months ago, they made some improvements for seek support on some transcoded video formats, so make sure you are running the latest version. As far as I recall those changes were done in MC21, but you could check the trial version of MC22 to see if that is better.

Yes it's with video that I have the issues.  The original format varies, latest test was with a mkv file.  The default DLNA configuration for xbox 360 is to render as WMV 720p.

WMV is not a very nice format, did you try changing it to something more sane, like MPEG2-TS or H264-TS? Unfortunately I don't know which formats the XBox supports.
If it can play those, you get better quality and better seeking support on our end. I don't remember of the top of my head what we do with wmv exactly.

The new seeking support is only available on formats we tested and verified to work, which does unfortunately not include WMV.
Primarly, thats the TS and DVD formats.
