Use MC as JRemote to another computer?
« on: November 14, 2016, 02:04:40 pm »

Hi all.  I have set up a Mac Mini as my "ID."  I can connect via JRemote on my iPhone and iPad.  However, there are times when it would be great to connect from my MacBook Pro.  Is there a JRemote for MacOS?  How about if I'm running MC22 on the MacBook?  Can it act like JRemote to control/stream the MC22 running on the Mac Mini?  Maybe web based?

Thanks,

 David

First of all, ensure Media Network is turned on in Tools > Options on both machines. You should automatically see the Mac Mini listed as a Zone in your Tree on the left hand side. You just need to make sure that zone is selected when selecting what to play, and MC will play to it instead of your MacBook.

I think Tremote is what you want.

That looks interesting for the control side but I want the audio streamed to the MacBook since I'm at work.

Look into WebGizmo/Panel, it should do exactly what you need.

Wow - thanks.  That is great.  Tried it from my MacBook Pro and my work laptop running Win-7.
