First, this ain't the right thread for this issue.  This is about New Features.
Second, are you sure it is not the CD drive?  In my limited experience, ripping on v22 is unchanged from prior versions.

Many thanks for answering and sorry for the mistake, the previous posts were on the right place.
The rip works well with windows media, and the issue is the same on two computers.

The wiki has a topic on Windows Defender.

The CD is recognised by MC
The error message is "Read track failed. L'initialisation du module d'encodage a echoué"

Try encoding to a different codec.  WAV or APE, for example.

It works with FLAC, I don't remember why I went to WMA, I think it was for compatibility with some devices...

So are you happy now - or do you still want or need to convert/record to WMA?

Did you see this, from the other thread linked to?:

The Windows 10 anniversary update (aka Windows 10 version 1607 OR build 14393.xx) introduced a bug that results in failures in WMA/WMV encoding.

The only known workaround is to copy "WMVCORE.DLL" and "WMVENCOD.DLL" from the "system32" ("sysWOW64" on Windows x64) folder in Windows 10 version 1511 into the MediaMonkey for Windows main installation folder and restart MMW so that those files are used in WMA encoding.

That quote was related to "MediaMonkey" but the same fix may be needed for JRiver.

Thanks,
I have tried the fix but it doesn't work.
I am happy so far with FLAC... I will see if it generates some issues in the future

So MC isn't planning to fix this? Why is that?

I don't think it's an MC fix.  It's a Windows fix.

Rips fine with WMP, but only goes up to 192 bitrate.

Want higher bitrate which MC provides, but isn't working at all.

When I go to rip a disc I keep getting the error message that says "Track read failed. "Failed to initialize the encoder plugin.  I'm using Media Jukebox 14.
