2160p upscaling

Hi, I have HTPC (gtx980) with a jvc rs600 uhd projector. I am using RO HQ and I want to upscale 1080p to 2160p with madvr.
I have windows set to 2160p and I followed the red october madvr setup guide,  but when I play a 1080p movie it immediately reverts to 1080p and when the movie finishes it goes back to 2160p.

Can someone suggest what setting I have missed or what I am doing wrong.

In madVR settings the following should get you going.

devices ---> <your display device> ---> display modes ---> list all display modes madVR may switch to: 2160p23, 2160p24, 2160p25, 2160p50, 2160p59, 2160p60
