Problem playing videos
« on: December 12, 2016, 06:45:42 am »

Hello everybody,

I am new to JRiver MC, just few months. I am very pleased with quality of sound and program features, but I am not able to resolve following problem.

I have created 2 zones. I want to play music on zone 1. On zone 2, i want to play short home videos, without sound. This works as intended, but video stops after each file, not skipping to next one. Videos are mp4 or mov files. If I start slideshow with photos instead of videos, everything is fine.

I even tried to start another instance of MC21 for videos only, but same thing happens. Playback is paused after each  file.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum.

Are you selecting a group of files, then pressing the play button?

Under Options > General > Behavior, you may find something useful.

What are you playing to?

I tried on two computers, and both have same behaviour. One computer is regular desktop pc. Sound is sent to external amplifier via headphone jack, and video to computer monitor. Another configuration is similar, only difference is video sent to smart TV via hdmi port.

No, I am not selecting several files at once, just first file in the folder list.

Thanks, gspd

I tried selecting folder, same thing. Then I created a playlist containing photos and videos. Everything goes fine till first video file. After that first video I have to manually select next file, with ctrl+n or page down. If next file is photo, it is correctly displayed, but slide show does not continue, you have too start it by pressing space bar.

If I do not use 2 zones, so just exclusively playing mixed play list, it goes well if video is following video, but if photo is following video, you have to enable slide show again with space bar.

It would bi nice if some of you guys can create such scenario and try it on your computer, it is easy to try.

Thank you in advance, gspd

What happens if you play from Video in the tree on the left (within MC) instead of from Explorer?
