Does MCC_PLAY_PLAYLIST command actually work?
« on: July 24, 2003, 01:44:40 am »

Hi,

I have been trying to use this command without any success. I am starting to wonder if it does actually work?

Cheers Davie

Just tried it from mjextman.exe and it worked.

Run: mjextman.exe /MCC 30008,277439764

(using the ID of one of my playlists)

Any chance the number or playlist ID are wrong?

Thanks.

Hi Matt,

I got he playlistID from a method given to me by Doof:

Quote

There is still a way of getting the playlistid, though.

Create a smartlist.

Add Rule -> Playlist and then choose the playlist you're interested in.

This rule will show up with the actual name of the playlist, but if you right click on that rule and choose "Edit by typing" it will change and show you the playlistid.

I'm actually kind of suprised to see them using the playlistid in the SDK. I would think that any kind of plugin that calls a playlist would be be a one user plugin, since playlistid's would be unique from one machine to the next.

however the first number I was entering 10026, is this what I am doing wrong. I would like to use this for sending diferent playlist to diferent zones.

Thanks for the help.

You can't currently issue a play playlist command to a specific zone because there aren't enough bits available in the Param field.  In this case, you'll have to switch zones first.

Otherwise, you can use "Next" and "Previous" playlist commands to scroll through playlists in a zone.

I understand now. Where does 30008 from?

Will this be fixed in the future?

30008 is the MCC_PLAY_PLAYLIST command.

In case it wasn't up to date, I just uploaded the most current MCC file here:

Thanks!

Thanks
