Author Topic: 22.0.32 - video playback - black screen, with audio - hanging crash on exit  (Read 2858 times)

I'm having issues playing video files with version 22.0.3.

I open the video file and I get audio playback straight away, but no video is shown...just black.
I then try to exit the program as normal, and I am not able to as the app hangs and then crashes.....requiring a Task Manager close.

Is anyone able to assist? Audio files play fine.
Have tested on MP4, TS and MKV files - all only play audio and then crash.

Thanks

  • Where did I put my teeth?

That may be a driver problem with madVR, but try updating to 22.0.54.

Try setting video to Red October Standard in video options.

I'm having the same problem.  Had to switch to Red October Standard from HQ.  Bummed me out but no matter what I did, same problem, blank screen but audio played just fine.  Exiting playback caused a program crash.

Program works fine in Red October Standard.

Thanks!  Marcus

Switched to Red October Standard in 22.0.32 - problem resolved.

Upgraded to 22.0.54 - left on Red October Standard - all video files play okay.
Switched to Red October HQ on 22.0.54 - and black screen/crash issue still remains.

If potentially a driver issue, I am using AMD R390 - with Radeon 16.12.1 software.

Thanks

So it is probably the recent driver problem that caused madVR trouble.  You could probably find information about it on the madVR thread at doom9, but start here:
