Hi there, I'm doing some maintenance on my server and consolidating some drives that have been spinning for 7 years or more. Within the library each drive is addressed separately using it's network address (\\server\movies1\<filename>, \\server\movies2\<filename> etc.). I'm copying the content of each small drive onto a new large disk, on which I was planning to have a single directory structure (eg. \\server\movies\<filename>).

Is there a way for me to tell MC where the new copies of the files are, without having to re-import?

I think you will have to use the Move Option

I'd already copied the drives outside MC, so the Move command wasn't applicable.

But the "Update database to point to new location" command was exactly what I needed. Apart from having to correct a few media type changes that auto import picked up when it scanned the new drive for the first time (my problem, not MC!) everything went very smoothly, and very very quickly.
