MC9 'Not Responding' after CD usage
« on: July 18, 2003, 12:57:48 am »

Could someone please help as this has not been resovled for months now.

If I play OR rip a CD, MC9 will do it OK. BUT... When I remove the CD I find that MC9 has hung with 'Not Responding' in the Title bar and I have to restart the PC to get rid of it, (End Task does not seem to work!)

Strangley I can continue to use all other aspects of Windows and still load other programs.

I have over 200 CD's I want to rip but I don't want to restart my PC after each one! RealOne and MediaPlayer9 both play and rip fine so I know it's not a hardware problem.

Regards

I would appriciate some actual 'support' on this as MC9 is unusable.

I know John had copies of my cdripper.log but I've had no update.

Cheers

This still could be a driver problem with the CD drive.

Try updating MC, Windows, and the driver.

Disable any other software that runs in the background and accesses the CD.

Hi Jim,

This PC is a HTPC so the only things installed are MC9, Powerstrip, WinDVD and Girder,  (Quicktime & Real for codecs.)

XP is bang uptodate. Latest frimware and drivers for every device.
