Webgizmo setup
« on: February 22, 2017, 08:09:39 am »

Hello!

I seem to be missing something in the Webgizmo setup.  I am trying to access the server from other computers using the web interface.  Currently I can get to the front panel at myipaddress:52199/Panel.  ("myipaddress" substituted for my actual IP, which is correct).  The browser will ask me for my user name/password that I set up.  I have the panel with links for Audio, Video, etc.  However clicking on these links gives me a page not found error.  The audio link, for example, gives the following:
http://myipaddress:52199/Gizmo/library.html?LibraryLocation=1

I've set up the DLNA server, and can access it from various devices in the house.  So, I don't think that's the problem.  The library is already loaded, per the Playing From function (button is disabled and the text says "this library is already loaded".  Is there something else needed before this will work?

At this point, I have it configured for only in network usage.  Web access may be next if I can get this working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi,
are you aware that views for WebGizmo are not configured at the same place as DLNA views? You probably have not configured the former, but only the latter.

Please also notice that, when configuring both kind of views, there are some buttons allowing you to initialize these network views (web or dlna) with the regular MC views: that avoids some tedious copy/paste work.

Of course, you can also choose to organize 3 kinds of views a little differently.

Actually, I am not aware of that, or probably a lot of things regarding MC.  I just got it and playing with it.   So far so good, but I having a hard time with the WebGizmo feature.

Other than the Tools->Options not sure where to go....  ?

Are there any tutorials or such that help with this?

Please take a look at the Panel instructions here:

Thanks,

I get the Panel loaded, no problem.  Looks like the picture posted (nice background).  The buttons on the panel send me to pages that don't exist.

So, I must have some underlying feature or settings not configured properly...

What is the full version of MC?  You may have an older version.

Per the software, I have Media Center 22.0.59

I think that's the latest, I just downloaded it a week or so ago.

By the way, love the software.  Cataloged all my images/video/music, and I play the music all over the house.  It's great!

I did the Help-> Update Channels -> Check for Updates and wasn't told there was an update, but I see here now, after looking that there is an update.

I'll give that a shot.

You could read about updates on our wiki.  The one you have is the Stable branch.  Under Help > Update Channels you can set it to Latest if you don't mind a little grief now and then.

On the machine where the server is running, try:

localhost:52199 in a browser.

The default library is the one that is shared.  Make sure you have something in it.

The localhost:52199 worked already, it was the buttons on the page that didn't work...

BUT

Installing the latest version 22.0.75 made it work.   ;D

Thanks!
