Playback could not be started...
« on: February 18, 2017, 09:45:51 am »

Hi this is becoming a tedious problem. I have a naim Dac V1 and a pc with jriver USB out to it. Like every other day JRiver throws a fit and will not play any music complaining that playback could not be started on output wasapi, format may not be supported.

This are standard redbook rips.

The only way to fix it is restart the PC then JRiver behaves.

Is there anything I can do here, or just accept computers will be computers?

What happens if you restart the DAC instead?

What version of MC are you using?

Did you set it up according to the instructions Naim provides for JRiver? https://www.naimaudio.com/sites/default/files/products/downloads/files/Naim%20DAC-V1%20-%20JRiver%20Configuration_0.pdf
Are you running the latest Naim firmware (1.16, I think)?

Yeah I did use the instructions. I am not sure what to make of it. The last time it did it I loaded Spotify and set a playlist going and it just moved through each of the tracks not playing them, so sorry for playing JRiver its obviously something else.

I'll keep probing.
