Install problem
« on: January 29, 2017, 01:57:42 pm »

Have tried to load the latest upgrade to MC 22 (59) but it keeps sticking at 41% even though I have waited for up to an hour for it to install.

Maybe you're running out of disk space?

Extract the files manually using 7-zip (it's a free download).  Just open the Media Center executable you downloaded with 7-zip in the right-click menu after you install it.

Then run Install.exe from the top.

Tried all that a number of times with no success.  No problem with disk space.

Anti-virus, perhaps?

No problem with anti-virus - have been using the same one for years with MC with no issues.

It still could be the antivirus.  That it has worked in the past doesn't prove anything.

What should I do then - switch it off and try update again?

Please uninstall the anti-virus and then try again.  It's the only way to know for sure.
