Track Change Settings Not Working?
« on: April 12, 2017, 01:36:44 pm »

When I change Tools  > Options > Audio > Track Change > Switch tracks to Standard (gapped) - 0.5 s to 2 s, there is no change in the time it takes when I switch tracks. It's almost instantaneous. I would prefer a little silence before the next track plays. I have restarted MC after making this change.

You probably have "use gapless for sequential album tracks" checked.  Uncheck that and it should work for you.

Brian, I tried that and restarted MC. No change. This happens when I'm playing a playlist and skipping to the next track is going to another album/artist.

Do you have "use gapless for manual track changes" checked?  What is your playback device?  Sound card, DAC, network renderer, etc.

My IFi Micro iDAC2 USB DAC is selected, integer mode is selected. Mac OS X is 10.12.4.
Bitstreaming is Yes (DSD).
Use gapless for manual track changes is not selected.

I appreciate the help!

Hmm.  That eliminates some variables.  Are the tracks in question DSD?  If not, I'm not sure what might be going on.

Yeah, it happens between standard 16/44 files. It's a minor issue in the grand scheme.
I have the same issue when I select HDMI so, it's never worked for me.

Are you testing this by manually pressing the track forward button?  Or are you testing by allowing the track to play to the end and then move to the next track but itself?

I just tried both.  Manual track changes are instant.  Automatic track changes follow the gap settings.  In fact, it even counts down in the display to indicate the gap that it is obeying (I set mine to 4 seconds to be very sure what was going on.)

Yes, the automatic track changes seem to comply. Manual track changes are hit or miss on my system- 3 skips are immediate, next skip the 5 second delay I set, 4 skips are immediate, etc..
