TV tuner broadcast standard HRC?

I have a Kworld TV tuner that functions fine.  The key is that when I scan for channels, I must use "USA (HRC)(NTSC-M)" to tune in any channels.  

I don't know what HRC stands for but I do know that other applications (including MJ8 ) seems to only offer NTSC-M which gets me nada.

Any ideas for a workaround/solution?
