Thanks for the suggestions.
Tried as user, same result of segmentation fault.
Ran the ldd commands. No output. Is that good news? Not sure what was supposed to output. Did it write to a file? Sorry, just a linux noob with enough knowledge to be dangerous.

It means all of the libraries were found so the issue isn't a missing library.
Not sure there is a lot left to try.
This seems to be the issue:
unhandled level 3 translation fault (11) at 0x00000000

Thanks for the update. Not many results when googling the error. If it's not missing libraries that probably means the multiarch cross-dependencies are ok too? If you think so, I can cross that off the list.

do you have an /etc/mtab file?

I'll check as soon as I can. Started over so in the middle of loading up the Debian Stretch Minimal build for the Rock64 board.
