Hi, I have a MC22 master license. I have installed this onto my HTPC but due to some issues to Win8, I upgraded to Win10 and when that happens, JRiver says the registration is no longer valid so I press the restore button and key in the registration code that I received when I first pay for the software. Then JRiver says this is valid but sent me an install key afterwards and say that the install key is valid only for 14 days.

Could someone please kindly explain what do I need to do with this install key?

I am not exactly a newbie..have used MC from v20 onwards but i am not very sure how the install key and registration code actually intend to work.

Thanks. Pardon my ignorance. So assuming that I am installing jriver on a new setup, do I first press "restore license", key in the registration code that was given to me when I bought the software, then wait for the install key to arrive in the email and then click on it to activate?

It says "An Install Key is a temporary, portable license file (.mjr file type), generated when you restore.
When you Restore, the Install Key is automatically applied to any copy of MC on the computer used to perform the Restore." why would I need an install key when i actually have a registration code?

and it says "The Install Key can be used to license MC on your other PC's, within reason. To do so, execute the Install Key by double clicking on it from Windows Explorer or the Finder. Mac and Linux licenses won't work on Windows and Windows licenses won't work on Mac or Linux."

After that, you must Restore again."

So with that when do i actually put in the registration code when i first purchase the software?

Sorry Jim. I am still not very clear. Should this be the right process below then?

1. Install JRiver. Click on restore license.
2. Install the reg. code during purchase.
3. Wait for install key to come on email. Don't click on it but if jriver is to be install onto another PC, then install of clicking restore license on that new PC, click on the install key and then when prompted later, install the reg. code.

Is the above steps right?
