Webgizmo in version 23
« on: October 02, 2017, 04:20:25 pm »

Hi there,

I am trying the new MC 23.  When I try to log in using web gizmo, I am able to enter my username and password but then I simply get a white screen.  This occurs when a set is both inside and outside of a network

I have tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox with the same results.

of note: http://localhost:52199/Panel/ <---- this works

suggestions?

Webgizmo is being replaced by Panel.  We're about 2/3 of the way along now.

If Panel isn't working for you, then check your firewall.

so how does one access it through the net?

please provide instructions.

Turn on Media Network if it is not on (Tools - Options - Media Network) and under Advanced make sure the TCP port is set to 52199 (which is the default).

Start by accessing on the system that has MC on it by typing this is in a browser

localhost:52199

To use it from a system (PC, tablet phone) within your network you need the ip address of the main system (cmd prompt and ipconfig). With that, in a browser, using your own ip,  enter, for example ( the  third number will be 1 or 0 and the last number will be specific to your computer. The 192.168 is pretty standard).

196.168.1.30:52199   (Example)

Use settings (the gear on the upper right) to set where to play - either Here or Player or another system name.

To access outside your network, get your outside ip address (whatismyipaddress.com) and use that in your browser, as above. For example,

172.64.20.30:52199     (Example)

You may need to set your firewall to allow MC to be accessible on the network and port 52199 to be opened. To access from outside, you need to have your router set to port forward port 52199 to MC. That is specific to your firewall and router.

Once you have the basic connectivity working, you can customize the views in Tools - Options - Media Network - Advanced - Customize Views
