Thanks! Finally you fixed the special characters bug on my (German) keyboard.

Ref CD Ripping:

Yes, have restarted the machine but still have the problem. I have reloaded 65, 70 and 74 all round and behaviour is consistent. 74 will not rip; all others will.

I also have the same issue on a completely separate machine - a MacBook Pro that is independent of the iMac. Both machines running OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan and stable. Both machines have ripped with MC for a long time. Something has changed....

After accepting the first error message by clicking on Rip Disc (Failed to create CD manager control) I then get a second message screen: 'Ripping is currently unavailable. Please ensure that a suitable optical drive is installed on this machine. Also, make sure you are using a local library and are not in party mode'. I am using a local library and have checked that Party mode is not engaged. Does this give a clue where an unintended tweak may have occurred?

Can you reproduce this bug?

_Sergey_:
Media Center 23.0.73
MacOS Sierra 10.12.5
Runs at 100% CPU regardless if playing or staying idle
On attempt to close hangs and shown as "Not responding"
I have generated Problem Report I can send.

This thread has 23.0.74 in the first post.  Could you try it?

Awesome Donkey:
More than likely it's either a) building thumbnails in the background and/or b) analyzing audio.

You can find out by going to Help > System Info... and checking what Background Tools Running there are, if any.
