JRemote doesn't do anything unless you have Media Center. If you could download JRemote for no charge from iTunes or the Google Play store would you still use Panel on your tablet or mobile device?

I have used both.  It's no contest; JRemote is awesome.  I'll use JRemote regardless, unless of course it goes away.  Then Roon and I hate Roon.

Panel is far easier to use. Point and click/touch, it just works. With PlayPower and Engen it can turn on the stereo and set inputs correctly via IR, so one or two touches and I am playing music.

This also is top priority for me when on the go. For example, when starting the car and getting music going, or pulling up music on an office computer.

Also, Panel makes it far easier to share my library. I can send a link via SMS that works and gives access to my music collection. I have several friends and family members streaming music from my home server. One mentioned she uses the Panel exclusively now for streaming music, prefers it to Spotify etc.

JRemote is great for home use, when I want to take a deep dive into the library for playback on a system.

That's VERY unlikely to happen, IMO. Wouldn't make sense to depreciate JRemote (or Gizmo for that matter).

JRemote for me. Without it MC loses much of it’s pleasure and usability for me. Tried the panel thing. Seemed like a mickey-mouse prototype. Ten or more years ago would have been interesting as a concept of what might come, but was really puzzled when it was produced recently. Also miss LesPaul.
