Exclude raw images from playback
« on: November 21, 2017, 06:31:02 am »

Hi

My camera creates a raw image and a jpeg for each image it takes. I save both and want to keep both as the raw files are required for later editing. But when I'm playing back in MC, I would like to exclude the raw images as they are just repeats of the jpegs and also as raw, they've had not adjustments such as sharpening etc applied and therefor actually dont look as good!

Can I do this, or would I have to save them to different locations? Dont want to do that as I want to keep them together in the same folders.....

The wiki has a topic on Stacks.  You can make sets of the images.

You could create views that show only jpg files or you could just search for jpg in any view.

Jim

Thanks for the advice and both methods work. What I'm really looking for is a way to permanently exclude the raw files so that Theatre View just shows the jpegs. As far as I can see, stacking still allows both files to be seen via Theatre View and it would take me a month of Sundays to go through my existing collection and stack each pair of files!

What I really want is a way to get MC to ignore the raw files. Any thoughts?

You can tell import what file types to look at.  Just check jpeg and ignore raw.

To delete your raw files from the library, just search for raw and delete.
