Remote problems using USB UIRT, Girder and Windows 10

Had the same problem with 64 bit MC and USB-UIRT.

Downloaded and installed a 64 bit driver, still no luck.

Here's the manufacturer's website with the drivers:

Rolling JRiver back to 32 bit solved the problem for now.

You could ask them to test MC64 with their driver.  We'll provide a license.

A 32-bit driver won't work with a 64-bit version of Windows, so ALL drivers that are installed have to be 64-bit already or you wouldn't be able to install them. USB-UIRT provides 32 and 64-bit drivers and Windows will pick the driver that matches the OS.

I also have the same problem with the 64-bit version of MC 23, so I suspect it's MC's USB-UIRT plugin that is not 64-bit. Is it possible for you at JRiver to look into that?

While that is technically true, the definition of "driver" is a bit more open to interpretation.

Media Center uses a part of the UIRT driver called "uuirtdrv.dll", which offers the public API of the UIRT SDK. One might consider this file part of the driver.
However, here is the problem, the UIRT Driver package only contains this file for 32-bit, not for 64-bit. Only the actual USB driver is provided in 64-bit (so that 32-bit applications on a 64-bit OS work), but we can't access that without this intermediate part also being 64-bit.

So any 64-bit application is unable to use the USB UIRT interface. So basically, there is nothing we can do, and you should contact the USB UIRT people and ask for an updated driver that contains a 64-bit version of "uuirtdrv.dll", so that 64-bit applications can make use of it.
Unfortunately it appears that USB UIRT is quite dead, no updates from developers have been seen for quite some time.
