Has anyone been able to bitstream DSD via DLNA using JRiver?
I swear I had this working just a few weeks ago!!! I don't know if any software changes have occurred?

I have a DLNA server setup on JRiver. FLAC files stream perfectly, no matter the bitrate. SR7011 shows them bitstreaming as FLAC and the correct bitrate. When I play a DSD file, the Marantz shows it as PCM, at the correct bitrate, but only a light hiss is heard. I have played these files prior and the info on the Marantz showed the file playing as DSD. I remember there was something I had to do to get the DSD files to bitstream and I can't for the life of me think of what I did. Would someone who has this working correctly please post their settings?

I have installed and run the WhiteBear analyzer.  Its suggestions have not solved the problem.

Try setting the DLNA Server to "no conversion".

Your “light hiss” makes me think that you are pushing DOPE (sorry for the pun)..

The hiss probably indicates that DOP is being used. The most significant bits indicate a DOP format and they are set to produce white noise if there is any problem interpreting the bits as DSD, so it does not cause potential damage to your speakers.

Make sure the volume is set to 100% or disabled. If MC is changing the bits to change the volume that can cause problems. Happens with WASAPI sometimes.

So I have the bitstream DSD box (requires DoPE renderer) checked under Advanced at the very bottom of the DLNA server settings window.  Is this not correct. 

I also have "original" as the file conversion.  There isn't an option to disable the volume with the Marantz as the renderer, only "enable volume when bitstreaming"  I have tried it both ways to no avail.  Again, there is a hiss and the track name shows up.  I know I've played DSD on this AVR very recently.  It is capable of DSD at 2.8 and 5.6!  Even says so on the sticker that was on it when it was new.  Thanks for all the effort and help!

I am referring to MC volume - the normal volume slider. Make sure it is set to 100%.

Application, system, internal volume all set to 100%.  The Marantz shows the DSD file playing as PCM-176.4kHz/24 bit.  Album art is displayed, correct track name is displayed.  Again, just hiss.

By gosh I found it!  The box for bitstreaming DSD (DoPE render) has to be unchecked.  Had tried so many different variations with that darn box unchecked, I swear that couldn't have been it, who knows?!!!  I also installed JR22 again just to see if JR23 was giving me fits.  They both work now.  Thanks so much for the help guys.  It sounds wonderful!

Congratulations. I was about to post to try that. I found it in another thread.  Seems counter-intuitive but it seems to work.
