Help With 2 Problems In Playlists
« on: February 10, 2018, 02:31:21 pm »

Hi.

I use playlists to broadcast my weekly radio show. Sometimes when the tracks are changing the next song starts before the previous one is over. Although I don't want a gap between songs, I also don't want one song playing over another. What's the fix for this?

Additionally, the WD My Passport 4TB outboard hard drive I play from sometimes seems to go to sleep and I get a message that MC23 is spinning up the drive in order to to play from it. That causes some dead air which is not cool on the radio. Is there any way to avoid this so I don't have dead air while I'm broadcasting?

I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Microsoft Surface Pro.

Thanks!

Check the settings for transitions.  It's under Audio.

Jim-

I don't see "Transitions" under audio, but I do see "Track Change". Is that what you are referring to? If so, it is presently set to "Standard (gapped)- .05 s". What should I change
it to?

That's the place.  And that setting should give you what you want.  If you're playing to a different zone, that would also need to be set.

OK Jim. I think that will work. What about the second problem I described below regarding the hard drive?

Thanks.

I think that's probably a drive setting, but try WD's support.

When DJ's use MC, they often use two zones and toggle between them.   You could use that process to make sure the drive is ready.
