BTW, I checked out the "Sync Library" function that you were trying to use previously for your two independent PCs each with their own copy of media on an external drive.
It works, and can be used without creating duplicates. But it can only be used to sync in one direction, or if sync'd in both directions it needs a very rigid definition of the directory structure and file naming, along with expressions to support two directional use. But for a PC to laptop transfer, it works fine, without duplicates. Easy to mess up though and have lots of duplicates created.
Using file sync software would be much easier, though handled a bit differently. But using a Client/Server setup is easier again, if you don't need to take the laptop away when travelling etc.
