I can't figure this out: the problem began with 23.102 on one computer in the network (everything else works). Once a song is selected to play, it does, but the display is frozen and I have to go to task manager to shut the program down. Any ideas on how to resolve this? I've uninstalled and re-installed; I've restored an earlier back-up before the problem appeared; and I've searched for an answer but haven't found anything (otherwise, why would I be writing?).

Is it a specific song that cause the freeze - or any song?

This problem only manifests itself on audio files played over the network from the server (local audio files play ok) to one computer only. All other types of media play okay local and network on all other computers.

The problem exists for both 32 and 64-bit versions.

I reinstalled and ran the following 32-bit & 64-bit versions:

v96: No problems

v100, 102, and 103: The playing of audio files (all types of file formats) caused the screen to freeze (the audio would continue) and task manager had to be used to terminate the program.

I have attached a sysinfo file from the computer with the problems and two logging files (one before and one after the problem).

Any ideas?

Antivirus is a possibility.

Thanks, Jim. I double-checked and I have all firewall and anti-virus turned off.

I just noticed that with the problematic playback, the playback is acting like it is in one of the preview modes (start - 30 seconds). The rest of the program remains frozen.

v96 is the last working version for me on this laptop.

From the client, make sure you're connecting to Library Server on the server, and not to MC's DLNA Server.

If it is antivirus causing the problem, turning it off may not be enough.  Uninstall it to test.

I only use windows defender on the problem computer--it can't be uninstalled. I've turned it off.

My connection to the server is via ip address:52199.

It's strange that this is the only computer affected and only after v96.

I followed every step of the windows defender post. No difference.

I found that I could play a song directly from the network drive with no problems. When attempting to play the same song through the library, the freeze occurs.

Since this is the only computer in my network that has this problem, I'm going to go back to a restore point in windows and see if it still happens.

Nothing works.

It's just not worth wasting the time anymore.

I downgraded to v96 and it works fine. Maybe 104+.........
