Customizing Video tree in MC23
« on: June 19, 2018, 06:36:01 pm »

Hope this is the right section to be posting this.
I have MC23 and JRemote and am just starting to organize my movies. I am confused in understanding how MC tree is already organized. I have a few movies but most of my library is music videos, concerts etc. so I am trying to change the view so it is more customized to what I have.

In MC Desktop i see:
-Concerts (i created this a long time ago but can’t remember how I did it lol)
-Files
-Home videos
-Movies
-Shows

But on JRemote i see:
Movies
Shows
Home videos
Other
Disk
Recent

The tree i would like to create is:
>Music
-artist
-concerts
-single live songs
-music videos
>Movies
>TV Shows
-show title

I also want to say that “shows” has movies and single music videos in there so i feel i am missing something in the metadata of my files to help MC organize them better.
Is there any way i am able to customize to this view and have JRemote display the same organization? Know i am not a digital media expert so “easy language” works best lol. Thanks

There is a board here devoted to Remotes.  On it, try searching.  Here's an example of a thread you should find:

You can customize it on the server under Media Network.

I went into Media Network and customized my Tree View.  Well it kinda worked in JRemote, meaning The customized view is there but it is under Music not Video.  In fact Video doesn't appear at all now on JRemote (side bar).  Not sure what I did wrong.

Second issue is organizing.  How do I set it up so JRiver will detect, Artist for example, and list files by artist, under Artist folder, instead of having everything in every folder?

Third problem is there is no effect with the view in JRiver on my computer.
