Audio File Location cannot be read-only
« on: July 05, 2018, 01:12:04 pm »

I've installed MC 24.0.40.  I cannot rip CDs.  I cannot change locations to rip CDs.  I get the error:  "Audio File Location cannot be read-only."

I have searched the forum.  I have tried:

1.  Changing the permissions for the folders, and that doesn't happen for me, or apparently for anyone.

2.  Uninstalling and reinstalling MC

3.  Disabiling both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes

4.  Setting up exceptions for MC on both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes.

Nothing works.

Please check the settings for File Locations in MC's options.

If it is an antivirus problem, disabling may not be enough.  The only way to be sure is to uninstall the AV.

I'm not sure what you mean by "check the settings for File Locations in MC's options."

I can change the location (which is currently the default music folder), but I'm not sure where the settings are for the file locations.

The tools options didn't do a thing, but removing Bitdefender and then reinstalling it worked.

Bitdefender is known to cause issues with MC, including ntdll.dll crashes.
