Hello, do, please, when you add a song to an old playlist, check for the presence of this song. It was reported that in this playlist there is this song.

Would it work to use the "Remove Duplicates" button at the top of a playlist?

"Remove Duplicates" works if it's the exact same version from the same album.

Otherwise, I sort the playlist by name of the song and visually scan for copies.

Sorry if I'm being a bit slow this morning as I'm clearly missing something. . . Are people implying that there is a 'remove duplicates' button already (I've never seen it but I'm maybe looking at a different thing) or is Matt saying would a 'remove duplicates' button do the job? Not quite the same thing buy anything that could also get applied to a play doctor playlist would get my vote as the remove duplicates modifier doesn't work for those lists.

Better when forewarned than to check for duplicates

I thought the popup you posted was forewarning you that you were about to add duplicates and giving you the opportunity to skip them , although why I'm discussing iTunes is beyond me.

I was just playing and I made the program ask if you want to remove duplicates when you add duplicates to a playlist.  But I'm not sure it's a clear win since there's a remove duplicates button.
