MC24 Server Crashing
« on: September 14, 2018, 09:25:53 am »

I need help diagnosing frequent crashing (every few days or at least weekly) in MC24 server.   I have tried all the troubleshooting mentioned here and can't solve the problem so here is the most recent log file:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/9tijwj4as5xu7nm/JRiver%20Log%202018-09-13%2021-44-05.zip?dl=0

I run the server on a old '09 Mac mini upgraded with 8 gb ram, WIN7 in a boot camp partition.   I am still running the client on MC22 on the downstairs media pc (another Mac mini '12 with 16 gb ram WIN7 partition); no problems on the client.

Appreciate the help.

Both server and client should be the same version, same build if you're having trouble.

24.0.50. is at the top of this board.

Read the bottom of the logs for clues.  It could be a bad file.

Ok, Jim.   Just updated client to MC24.0.50.    Server upstairs just crashed again.   Here is the new log:

Did you try reading the log, starting at the bottom?  Look for "crashing".

Is it a crash (program disappears) or a freeze (program is locked)?

It is a crash as in the program disappears without any popup messages.    I see no mention of "crashing" in the log.    Absent obvious messages like "crashing" I can't make much sense out of the log.     So I turn to you to interpret it.

I can tell you that I have no anti-virus programs installed.   The server machine has the latest Windows 7 updates.   Neither of these machines is used for anything other than media record and playback.
