I deleted a couple folders (albums) from the folder which is designated to run auto-import in background in one of my libraries and the two albums still appear in the library window. I closed and relaunched MC and they were still there. Had to manually right click and delete each one. Auto import is working when it comes to adding new folders to my library but shouldn't it also automatically remove albums or files if the files or folders are deleted or moved to a different location that is outside the managed library folders?

What are the settings in  your auto-import? Specifically the broken links.

Fix Broken LInks is set to YES. Should I set it to NO?

No, that should be the correct setting. What version of MC are you running?

OK, just tested this by moving a folder out of my auto- import zone with auto-import deactivated and the folder stays there, but with auto import active it disappears, then reappears when I transfer the folder back to my autoimport area. I would suggest that perhaps you do not have autoimport set up to run in the background in tools>options>library&folders.

I have auto import set to run in background in both of the libraries I have created. So I am not sure. I see that if I delete the album from the library within MC I am given choice to delete from library and keep folder or delete and move folder to recycle bin... so maybe next time instead of deleting files or folders from the master folder I will delete them from the MC library. But it should be working properly as you described if auto import is running in background.

Perhaps ~OHM~ is right! - Aaaaaah scary thought! I would use the MC option in future, can't understand why your system isn't doing what it should.

Thanks for your various replies. This is something I can live with or work around. The more pressing issue is with ripping errors on perfectly clean discs in dBpoweramp CD ripper... but that is for a different forum.

Why not rip them in MC? I've never really had a problem with it - oh my god! I hear ~OHM~ coming up behind me!!!!

I don't know how MC's ripping software compares to dBpoweramp forum but I am used to what I've been using and I really like it... gotta be a workaround to get bit-perfect rips.
