Accounts at JRiver
« on: September 30, 2018, 09:03:08 am »

Since we sent two recent mailings about changing passwords, there has been some confusion about accounts.  I'll try to summarize the situation here.

Forum Account
In order to post on the forum, you need to register.  You may not have done this, and if not, you will not find any account here.

If you do have an account, just log in to the forum, then click on Profile in the menu at the top, then on Account Settings.  You can enter a new password at the bottom of that page.

If you can't remember your password, on the login page, there is a "Forgot your Password?" link.  If this doesn't work, just register for a new account.

License Account
If you purchased a JRiver license, you were asked to enter a password.  This password and your e-mail address allows you to change your e-mail address.  It isn't used for anything else.  If you can't remember it, don't worry about it.  You can enter a new password if you purchase again in the future.

We just added "Forgot your Password?" link as option #4 on the Restore Page.  If you click on it, you can ask our server to generate a new, temporary password.  If it refuses, you don't have an account corresponding to that e-mail address.
To change your current password, use the "Forgot your Password?" functionality, which will let you enter a new password of your chosing.

Isn't this a little complicated?
It is.  I'm sorry.  We hope to be able to combine these accounts in the future, so that there is only one login that works everywhere on the JRiver site.

Questions about your account?
If you have read the above carefully, and you still have a question, please ask here.

Questions about installing and licensing?
Please read Restoring a License.

Thanks.

Hi,
3 days ago I had a problem with my MC23 licence for windows.
I bought it in December 8 2017 with Paypal.
At the launch JRiver asked me my number licence. (I don't now why)
I do it, but it wasn't accepted.
I try to restore it, but not accepted with your files sent by mail.
I try with extended trial.
Licence number sent not accepted.
I only was recognized as a MC21 owner.
I try with my transaction number PayPal on your site but it  won't recognized.
At least I purchase a new MC24 licence.
And now it's ok.
It run with MC23 and MC24.
I think it's difficult for us to contact you for a trouble.
Please create a mail account to contact you in case of troubles ...
Sorry for my English, I'm a French guy.
Best regards

You have a license now for: MC21, MC23, and MC24.  I could not find a license for MC22.

Here's how licensing works:

The e-mails we send include that link.

Hi,
I never spoke about mc22.
So I was "obliged" to purchase a MC24 license because my MC23 license wasn't accepted ...
This upgrade wasn't in my project.
And the duration of this MC23 was less than one year available.
And also many time lost to try to restore unsuccessfully the MC23.
Anyway MC24 is intersting and I've no regret.

Regards

Nevermind!! After going through a pile of iterations of zero, 'O' and such I found something that worked.

 regards.

One of my two dedicated music PCs cratered (after running with JRiver for years and years). I've re-installed MC23 twice (32bit and 64bit).
I did save my registration information (Media Center 23 Master) but I'm not sure which PC that was for. I'm hoping it was for the older one but my Registration Code adamantly refuses to work (not found). Just to be safe I had the Reg Code e-mailed to me and it matched my original from the  January 2018 upgrade.

I just don't know what to do next? Totally confused (and not that completely savvy about everything JRiver )

 HELP???

I'll move this to a new thread.

If the license isn't working, either

a.  You've entered a typo.  Use copy and paste.
or
b.  You don't have the version installed that matches your license.

Please read this carefully.
