Newly downloaded JRemote (iPad Pro) won’t connect to Mac Pro

Trying to connect JRemote on iPad Pro to JRiver on my Mac Pro for the first time. Tried both access key and IP address, no success. Error message pasted below (IP details replaced w/***). Any ideas? Thank you

All devices (iPad and MacBook Pro etc) are connected to the same WiFi.

There is no firewall - just the WiFi router.

I am not a tech guy, clearly dumbed down by Apple products “just working on plugin”, so the website instructions don’t help me.

Is the error message at all helpful to understand what is wrong?
