I'm still having the stuttering playback issue if I leave JRiver on one of my phones.  Oddly, it's the best phone of the bunch (Pixel 3).  Even if I lock the screen it goes into this stuttering, buffering-like nonsense.  The phone doesn't do this with other media playback, just out of JRiver.  I'm attaching an MP3 that I recorded with another phone while the Pixel 3 was playing.  The first 10 seconds are fine, at 10 seconds, I turned off the screen on the Pixel 3.

Is anyone else experiencing this?  I have the app set to not optimize battery and have plenty of space left on the device.

Also - the app size is pretty large... It's the largest app on my phone besides "Google" by far.  Any plans to reduce the footprint?  I have a newer phone, but my old one was always short on space and having an app take up 299 MB of space would make it stand out to me as a candidate to de-install.

Thanks!

There is a setting (which I can't find now) that tells Android to allow the app to use battery (or run?) in the background.  I had trouble with my phone until that was set.

Yeah, Android's battery optimization, depending on phone vendor and what mods they make to Android, can be pretty aggressive at times.
