MC 24 with PS Audio Bridge II
« on: December 19, 2018, 04:11:49 am »

MC 22 & 23 on my Mac crashed so I just installed MC 24, all settings were gone and now no audio from my PS Audio Bridge II. Could anyone enlighten me how to setup OPTION\Audio? Recalled there was a special selection for Bridge II.

Thanks a lot!

Are you using Mojave? MC22/MC23 crashing is likely because of this: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,117643.0.html

MC22/MC23 crashed before I installed Mojave. MC24 does not recognize my PS Audio Bridge II/Directstream DAC, do I need to install any driver for Mac?

Did you try PSAudio for instructions?

Typically there's no need for drivers on macOS as (most/the majority of) DACs support USB Audio Class 2.0, which macOS natively supports (hence no need for drivers).

Did you go to MC's Options > Audio > Audio Device and see if it's listed there in the dropdown menu? How is it connected to the Mac? USB? If so *should* be listed in the dropdown menu unless there's something wrong (or it might be named something else in the list). If connected via another method (e.g. S/PDIF, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc.) you'd have to use the Mac's onboard output. Is it detected within macOS itself?
