Play Store Download
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jriver.mediacenter

24.0.14 (12/21/2018)

1. NEW: Added an About option to the menu to display the app version.
2. Fixed: The app service would sometimes crash.

24.0.13 (12/20/2018)

1. NEW: The app now runs as a service, which allows it to keep system resources when in the background or sleeping. This will cause more of a drain on batteries if the service is running when the device is asleep.
2. NEW: Added a notification window with some playback control options for when the device is locked or the app is in the background.
3. NEW: Added a quit option to the menu in the action bar that will properly stop Media Center.

24.0.12 (12/14/2018)

1. Fixed: Playing an image to the Player zone would cause a crash.
2. Changed: The device back button will navigate back through the
browser history instead of destroying the task unless it can't go back.
3. Changed: Added the DCIM (camera) folder to the list of import folders.

24.0.11 (12/12/2018)

1. NEW: Added image support.
2. Fixed: The Android output plugin would crash with floating point PCM data.

24.0.10 (12/11/2018)

1. NEW: Added support for Android TV devices.

24.0.9 (12/10/2018)

1.  Fixed one crash.

24.0.8 (12/7/2018)

1.  APE files now play.

24.0.7 (12/6/2018)

1. Fixed: Seek was not working when playing to the player or other zones.
2. Fixed: The UI was not getting restored on rotation and during other state changes on some versions of Android.

24.0.6 (12/5/2018)

1. Changed: DLNA: explicitly supply the library server (Panel) port with the presentation page URL for our DLNA renderers and servers.
2. Fixed: DLNA when authentication was enabled, the DeviceDescription.xml for Library Server couldn't be loaded on a remote MC. This means that if the server wasn't manually setup on the remote for authentication is might now show up in the server list.
3. Changed: JRiver for Android will open Panel in an embedded browser in the app instead of an external browser.
4. NEW: Implemented an audio output plugin.
5. Fixed: DLNA devices were being propagated properly because the MAC addresses weren't being used.

24.0.5 (12/4/2018)

1. Fixed: Possible fix for the crashes on some Android versions.

24.0.4 (11/30/2018)

1. Changed: Updated the app to target the latest SDK.
2. Changed: Added permissions check when the app first starts.
3. Changed: The displayed name of the app is now just "JRiver".

Still no joy with .14 on a Xiaomi MiPad 4, but big progress from .12!

Instead of just a gray featureless screen, I get the basic menu system.
Can't import anything, can't directly play anything.
Settings/System settings shows "Network" that when depressed gives two choices,  "Show Network Property" and "Scan for Networks" with buttons that change color when pressed, but no action.

My MC server (24.0.72) sees the MiPad and can play music to it, but that's all.

Completely uninstalled, then rebooted and reinstalled, no change.

I would say it is encouraging, any progress is welcome.

Android 8.1.0
MIUI version global 9.6 stable (9.6.7.0)
kernel 4.4.78

Original install was 24.0.11.

It will import automatically, but only from the default music directory.  Your music needs to be there.

Installed yesterday from my LG V20 H990DS running Android 7.0.

Initial findings:

- Can't access my microSD
- Can't see 24-96 album/files
- Can see but can't play DSD64 .dsf files

It should import FLAC files.  Your audio files need to be in the default Music folder.  This will change in a future version.

First of all congratulations for porting JRiver to Android. And Merry Christmas.

- Yes, recognized my 16-44 flacs but Not 24-96.

- Problem finding/accessing w/ videos.

Hoping to have folder views.

JRiver uses ASL or bypass it? Can it access DAC/Amps via OTG?

Can't fully test since I am in vacation. Using files available from my phone. Hoping next week when I return.

Thank you.

24.0.10 (12/11/2018)

1. NEW: Added support for Android TV devices.

First, this is great news. Thanks for putting in the work to get this part going.

Second, should this be available for all Android TV devices or just a select subset? It's not showing up as able to be installed on my Nexus Player. Version listed in Play Store is 24.0.14.

Forgive me; I just want to clarify: Does this function yet as a DLNA controller? I'd want to use it to command my server to play things.

This is for playing media on the Android device. There are plenty of other remotes to use to command your server.

No, but Panel would.

It's not right yet.  We'll get there.

Hi,

Just paid for JRiver on the Android Store on January, 1st. The day after, transaction was canceled. Why ?

Just wanted to try a sideload on SATV. Trial was succesful, but I failed to synchronise NAS library via DLNA.

Any idea on these problems ?

Thanks !

Welcome.

You could check your account with Google.  Maybe it was for a duplicate purchase.

SATV?

The Android version only plays local content at this time and only from the default Music folder.  That will change soon.

Account checked. JRiver is no longer accessible within my purchased app.

I have yet to check my bank account. I will not buy two times the same app. Especially since it is not DLNA ready..

SATV is for Shield Android TV. Sorry for that.

Regards,
