As you have a GTX 1080, Best Quality.

If Bitstreaming over HDMI to your Onkyo and the sound changed, then it is probably something to do with how the Onkyo handles the madVR video stream. That would be very specific to your environment. I'm afraid I can only give a generic answer to your generic question.

So if you don't like the sound, change to the Balanced setting.

Or select Best Quality, note all madVR settings, then select Balanced, note all madVR settings. Compare, and start experimenting. But that is all up to you to do. Or perhaps Onkyo can assist. But if the audio is indeed Bitsreamed, and the Onkyo receives the Bitsteamed audio, then it is likely internal processing of the Onkyo is the issue.

Maybe someone else can offer better advice.  8)

Please don't use this thread for madVR support.  If the presets aren't enough, then you're on you own.

wasnt actually looking for madvr support,
I tried to get help from the post where this was listed but noone answered, I only wanted to know with my setup which was the best setting.
I have default set at the moment as I have never played with the madvr settings and also wante to know how to look at what changes had been made using the different settings.
Thanks to Roderickgi he sort of knows my setup and understands what I am asking.
Roderickgi hope you are having a great christmas..
