Author Topic: First track played after startup is preceded by pop sound [Solved]  (Read 893 times)

Whenever JRiver is launched/started the first track that is played is always preceded by a snap, crack or pop sound, this only occurs on the first track after JRiver is originally started. This is a repeatable issue.

I’m using JRiver MC 24 with a Lynx Hilo DAC the audio files I’m playing are in FLAC format.

Does anyone know of a setting in JRiver or Lynx Hilo to address this issue?

Thanks Chris

That's coming from your DAC.  Try telling MC to play "Leading Silence" in the options.

Must agree with JimH I never get any odd sounds on the first track whichever of my DACs I use but I haven't got a Lynx.

Thanks for your replies,

I have resolved the issue (pilot error), I was leaving the volume control on the DAC on. With the Lynx Hilo if you turn it off and leave it in standby the next time you turn it back on all the previous settings from the last session are restored including the volume.

As soon as I turned the volume down before starting JRiver the snap, crack or pop sound is gone.
