Been using latest version 24.0.72 (64-bit) for music playback successfully (m4a, mp3, flac files). Yesterday after starting the program, when I attempted to scroll through music programs, MC crashed.  I backed up music library, uninstalled MC, restarted computer, reinstalled latest version, restored music library.  The same problem occurred.  Attached is the log file.  Thanks for any help you can give.

Antivirus?  Driver problem?

Same configuration of antivirus, drivers on music server that has been stable through multiple versions of MC.  Tried most recent versions of both 32 and 64-bit MC. Rebuilt MC library, manually reset all options, and still crashes.

Antivirus might work with one version of MC and not another.  Uninstall it to test.

I uninstalled MC (latest build), turned off antivirus (Security Essentials), restarted computer, installed MC (latest build).  When I scroll through files, MC crashes.  Same result. 

Further description of the problem...When I launch MC and select Audio/Artists, for example, the first set of files that appears on the screen play just fine.  But if I try scrolling down through the list of files, playback sticks, and a window opens indicating the program has failed.

Hello?  Any other suggestions that might get the current build of MC24 running on my server again?  My antivirus is Microsoft security essentials. I uninstalled it and the problem remains.  MC is running on dedicated server (Windows 7) with Firefox as the only other user installed application.

The crash appears to be from accessing a certain MP4 file. I've fixed what appears to be the reason for the crash, so hopefully this is resolved in a future build.

Thanks for your reply.  As I have a music-only server, it has no MP4 files (I conducted a file search to verify).  Music file types consist of m4a, mp3, and flac.  Video driver is up to date.  The server has no video card - graphics are on the i3 CPU.  The server is accessed via virtual desktop using ultraVNC. 

MC24.072 also crashes on my desktop computer whenever I attempt to run the library auto-import.

M4A are MP4 files, people just like to rename them.

Thank you.  So the question then is how can I be certain that the problem is resolved before I spend $ to upgrade to MC25?

There should be an MC24 update soon with a fix.
