Volume doesn't change
« on: March 20, 2019, 12:40:37 pm »

My Logitech mouse & keyboard will both cause MC's Volume slider (top left) to move as it should but the volume does not change.

Bug...

Try setting volume to "Internal".

Try setting volume to "Internal".
That fixed the volume problem with the mouse but did nothing for the keyboard.

As I adjust the keyboard volume I can see the Logitech volume slider moving on the win 10 screen & MC's top left volume slider moving but the actual volume does not change.

Explore the other options for volume.   Also the settings for Media Keys.  I'll move this to a new thread.

Have already tried all the other volume options... no joy there.

Media Keys? Where are they? Are we talking about the Tools/Options/Remote Control Settings?

I have made no changes to MS25. I simply installed MC25 & tried to use it. Why would the volume settings be different from MC24? Something is not right here.

Already tried that. All it said was "Translate Hot Keys when running as media server" whatever that means?

Anyway, I found the problem. It was indeed made by me. I completely forgot that I had made ONE change to MC25. When using MC24 I had been using HDHomeRun for my TV as MC 24 never worked very well for TV. When I installed MC25 I decided to give it another try. As I save all TV recordings to my Synology NAS that meant I had to change the Synology BDA Compatibility Mode to JRiver Media Center. Seems that may have been what messed up the volume setting. Strange thing is I have made that change several times before with prior versions of MC & never had any volume problems. What I'm suggesting there may be something weird going on with MC25 when a change is made to Synology BDA Compatibility Mode

Just a thought.

I did as my post above states. It turned up nothing useful.

Anyway the problem has been resolved with the exception of the "Synology BDA Compatibility Mode to JRiver Media Center".

Now that the volume problem is resolved MC25 is running well so far.
