Radio JRiver
« on: March 26, 2019, 05:06:15 pm »

When I select Streaming, in the left side, I see a list of 'Streaming' devices, Among them are YouTube, RadioTunes, and at the end, Radio JRiver.

The Radio JRiver does not, however, show up on the left side when 'Streaming' is expanded. Must I do something special to gain access to Radio JRiver?

It's never shown up on the left side  -- click on streaming on the left panel then  look at the main window they should be a click button icon there - click on Radio JRiver and it will take you to the station selection

There is no way to click on the Radio JRiver label. The image I included is all I see.

It looks like you're using VNC.  Maybe that's the problem.

Correct. I have never had an issue with VNC previously. Is there a recommended terminal emulator that is known to work?

I connected a monitor and keyboard to the machine in question. Its behavior for both streaming and Dr. Who is exactly as it was with the TightVNC connection.

Well, you're missing the icons in Streaming, so something's wrong with your machine or your installation.

Try describing the hardware and software.

Windows 7 Home Premium
OS: 6.1.7001 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
Mother Board: ASUS B85M-E/CSM
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 Haswell Quad-Core 3.6 GHz
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws x Series (2 x 8Gb)
Disk: Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 250 GB SATA III
Network: 10 Gb internal and external (ISP: AT&T)

Only user application running (task mgr)
Running MC 25.0.14 (64-bit)

Possibly an OS issue. I don't let the system continually update MS updates. I have found that, other than the current issued with MC, the current OS configuration presents no issues.

The machine, my local computer, that seems to have the correct settings is Windows 10. Perhaps I will update the music machine to W10, although I was hoping to avoid that burden :).

I have a Win 7 Home machine and it works as expected.

Possibly a problem with antivirus or similar.

My solution is Windows 10. It works correctly.
I am sure W7 will work. I have SP1 installed and nothing else. Perhaps later updates would have altered something in the configuration to allow it to work but I now have a working system.

Thanks for all of the comments.

I did not have any antivirus software installed although I did have Malwarebytes running. I can't see how that would interfere; it generally puts up a dialog box if it doesn't like something.

You could class Malwarebytes as antivirus.  That was probably the problem.  Uninstalling it might have confirmed that.
