JRiver & JRemote do not respond since I changed my router
« on: July 31, 2019, 07:24:18 pm »

I had to change my router, and since then JRiver no longer communicates with my network and my hard drive '' My Cloud '' Also I can not control JRiver with my iPad mini (JRemote)

I know it's a question of IP address, because on the desktop of my LapTop dedicated to music or there is JRiver software, there is a shortcut to the name of my hard drive, but with the address of my old router,

How is it done to give the new IP address of my new router to JRiver and JRemote?

Thank you

Try Tools > Options > Media Network and click on the Access Key to generate a new one.

Did you restart the machines that are running JRiver MC and JRemote?

Wonderful, I have connection with my hard drive, some album have five times the same song but hey I found the connection.

JRemote does not want to connect, I changed the access key, the ip address, the port, but I do not know what MAC address I need.

Do any of your “old” devices have static IP addresses? Some routers route on the 192.168.1.xx subnet, and others route on the 192.168.0.xx subnet, so it’s possible that changing the router, changed the subnet, which would make static IP devices unroutable..

You're right AndrewFG, my big problem was that my hard drive had a static IP address. This problem is solved.

The only problem is that JRemote does not want to connect to my server anymore to control JRiver. I went in the parameters, connection with a new access key, with an IP address, changed all the new data, nothing to do.

If I uninstall JRemote and reinstall it is that I have a connection?

Is there a troubleshooting guide to connect JRemote to a Mac?  It is on an iPad Pro

The Macbook Air is running JR24

9 times out of 10, when I tap JRemote, it won't connect
Then I restart the Mac and iPad, often several times
I verify the code on JRemote, it is always correct
Then I delete the server name and reload the code
Then I delete the code on JR options and media server and get another
If this does not work, I shut down both machines, wait a few mins and try again
This usually works
By now an hour has gone by and I have got up and down at least 20 times

The Mac and the iPad are using DHCP and are connnected to the same router, which happens to be in the same room

I have noticed that although the MAC address of the Mac is 192.168.88.184, the iPad will find this, and a strange IP 41.142.65.138.  I don't know where this comes from

The 41.142.65.138 may be your outside network.  Try entering whatsmyip into Google.

Is your wireless connection turned on?  You may be trying to connect to your outside network.

WiFi signal weak?

JRiver is on my Dell LapTop, and JRemote on an iPad mini. Both connect very well to my network to go to InterNet.

When I installed both software, I did not have anything to do. Why now JRemote does not want to recognize JRiver?
