Media Network - Library Server Sync vs Read Only
« on: August 03, 2019, 02:44:45 am »

Hello there,

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to have multiple Media Center clients (one HTPC, one being me) that accesses a media network server with differing permission levels. I'd like to administer the media network using a new Library I define on my own computer (because it's a headless machine). At the same time I'd like the HTPC to only have permissions to see what's on the server but not modify anything there.

I'm not sure if this has been answered elsewhere. Is it possible, or can it be implemented somehow? Since older versions I've seen a new "Read-only authentication" option I can tick on the server but that doesn't seem to affect Media Center clients (still always prompts for a password)

Thanks!
