192khz files stutter
« on: August 15, 2019, 07:23:47 pm »

Using Media Center 24.

Windows 10 to Microrendu to Chord Cutest DAC via TP-Link AV2000 gigabit powerline kit.

Can't get 192khz files to play.

I tried increasing buffer on DAC from recommend 100ms to 250ms.

Any suggestions?

With this current configuration, I can't go direct usb.

Have to go microrendu, to DAC.

Could it be a slow internet issue?

Can you take the powerline kit out of the setup to test and connect directly?

Search the forum for Microrendu. You will find lots of info, some of which may help.

192kHz x 24bit x 2ch = 9.2MBps so can your powerline connection reliably deliver this?

Even if his powerline consistently delivers over 10Mbps, which they can, it is extremely normal for powerline to drop packets when there are spurious disruptions on the electrical circuit, which are unavoidable.

Powerline is not a reliable transport medium, strictly speaking.  I would fully expect any high bandwidth streaming over powerline to sutter, unless a large buffer is used.

Update.  192khz working fine now.

Changes:

First, opened Synology Router settings.  An update was pending.

Ran update an rebooted router.

Second, changed Media Network, Options, configure DNLA servers, Audio (switched Mode to Specified output format only when necessary)

Thanks for help and suggestions!
