Crashes playing audio
« on: November 16, 2019, 03:06:56 am »

Hi,

MC keeps crashing on me in several occasions. I just opened MC to play a few songs and there it went again. Decided to send the log file. Hopefully you can help me with this.

I have very recently reinstalled W10-64 and followed the instructions to tame Windows Defender. The reinstallation helped with  a few MC issues but not the crashing.

Antivirus?

Drivers are the second most common cause of crashes.

Your log has no previouslog.txt.  Take a look at the wiki topic on Logging.

Please describe your audio setup.

Hi Jim,

Throughout the years that I am using MC the versions above 22/23 are crashing more then the older versions.

I am not using specific equipment or plugins, only the standard MC installation. Can't use the 64 version because that version does not recognize my Astell and Kern players.

-------------------------------------------------

Will check what I have to do to configure correct logging. Then I will send a new log.

Will also make a new topic to discuss the AK problems.

I forgot, it is not the antivirus. Or it it shouldn't.

In the past Bitdefender has been the cause of several issues. I removed that software and now use Windows Defender which is tamed as described by Awesome Donkey.

Did you uninstall Bitdefender?

Bitdefender has been removed over a year ago. It is now Windows Defender.

Try disabling auto-import and see if it stops crashing. It *still* could be a bad file or something like that.
