Yes.

I have installed the correct 64 bit MC version on my Win 10 machine. Tried it many times: deinstalled everthing (MC25 too), restarted, reinstalled, tried it again as an admin - to no avail.

The only thing that helps, is using the compatibility mode for Win 8 under properties/compatibility. Problem and solution can be reproduced on my machine.

BTW: There is an old thread from February 15, 2011, 01:24:31 pm with that exact message from user Ver.di who upgraded from MC5 to MC16
He found a fix, but only for Win 7, not for Win 10 (Reply #14 on: February 17, 2011, 04:35:22 am):

================================

Fixed it:  ;D

For a normal install, the version of the OS is in the registry here:
HKLM\Software\JRiver\Media Core\Installations\Media Center 16

For Windows 7, you should see:
OS Version: 10

But the installer wrote 7.
I changed it with regedit to 10 and now it works fine"

================================

In my registry the value of OS Version is 1010.

Same thing happened after installing JRiver Media Center 26.0.15 (Warning: MC has been installed for a different operating system). The registry entry has been automatically updated by the installation with a false OS value.

I can only start Mediacenter either in compatibilty mode or by changing the registry manually.

I know how I can help myself. But this issue should be fixed!

Hendrik:
This would only happen if you run the installer in compatibility mode, as Windows then lies to it which version it actually is. Don't do that, and it won't write a wrong value.
We're not aware of any other reports of this nature.

I didn't run the installer in comp mode.

I just upgraded from MC24 to MC26.0.20 and am running into an issue with some of my settings not being brought into MC26, such as the Media Network settings (DLNA is disabled, even though it shows as enabled if I open MC24 pointing to the same library.
