Not enough bits to output the input directly

i have JRiver Media Center 26 installed on a small form factor computer running Windows 10.

this computer has HDMI 2.0a out, and intel video and "Intel display audio driver".

the driver itself has properties that allow me to select the full range of output options, including 24bits/192kHz "Studio Mode".  it even has an option for Dolby Atmos.
This unit is connected to a Denon AVR-X4500H receiver, with a 5.2.4 speaker setup.

i have flac files that are 24bit/192kHz.  When i use MC to play them, audio path shows the media being downconverted to 16bit/48kHz.

during various tests, i have also seen "not enough bits to output the input directly". 

Since Windows 10 and the "Intel Display Audio DriveR" will allow 24bits/192kHz, why won't jriver also allow it?

Turn off any DSP you're using in DSP Studio.
