Oppo BDP-103 Disappeared From Playing Now
« on: January 21, 2020, 11:59:38 am »

After five+ years of working fine my Oppo suddenly disappeared from Playing Now on both of my JRiver 20.0.18 installs and from Gizmo on my Tab 4 tablet. Other zones show up as usual. I use the Oppo frequently as a renderer, particularly for multichannel. The Oppo works fine in all other network functions, including internet access streaming. I can Ping it using the IP address. It shows up as usual in my network tools. I have not changed anything about the Oppo or my router, firewall, etc. recently. Windows 10 has had recent updates to KB4528760 on both machines.

I'm not too familiar with DLNA and I know it can be tricky. I would appreciate any advice.

Try powering everything down and back up.

Download the DMRA from my sig, and see if it can find the Oppo.

PS If it can’t then you have a network problem on your Lan (and not an MC problem).

DMRA couldn't find the Oppo. It was on the network and I could use it as a DMP, but not a DMR. I had power cycled it but had not unplugged is so tried that and it worked! Electronics are weird - and I am an aerospace electronics engineer :<(

Thanks for your responses, I do love MC.
