Marantz SA800 DAC and MC for Linux
« on: February 28, 2020, 03:43:41 pm »

Hello,
I have a Mini PC runing Ubuntu 18 04.3 SO and Media Center 26. I use a Marantz SACD and DAC player and I'm having some problems playing PCM audio files at rates greater than 48KHz.
When I start MC and try to play any file it seems that MC activates the DSP sample rate conversion by itself and convert any file to 48KHz. After that I allways try to disable the DSP output format conversion but sometimes It appears enabled again  and after some some more changes MC starts to work properly.
With DSD files everithing is OK
Has anyone have experienced a similar problem?

Thanks

Are you playing across the network?  Or directly connected with a USB or other cable?

Hi, thanks for your answer and sorry for the delay on my reply. I'm playing direct to the Marantz DAC using a standard USB cable

Does Marantz recommend USB 3.0?

MC can only play what the device will accept.

Our wiki has a topic on DSD and other audio issues.

I've been running Windows version of MC using a regular 2.0 USB cable with this DAC and it worked always perfect. Just in case I'm going to change the cable

Thanks
