Download 64-bit build
https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v26/latest/MediaCenter260080-x64.exe (works on 64 bit systems only)

26.0.80 (5/11/2020)

1. Changed: Updated German translation file (thanks Bytestar).

4. Changed: The tree no longer expands to show when devices come and go.
5. Changed: Removed the +6 dB shift we were applying to HDCD decoding.

How does one use TitanTV's web interface to schedule TV recording or starting playing TV?
(This is a very welcome feature - thank you!)

MC26 started crashing on my Windows 10 computer yesterday and now every time I try to open a file I get a blue circle that I can only get out of by closing the program. Re-booting has no effect. I checked for updates and this gave me v73 but no change. I downloaded v80 today but again with no effect. I disconnected the DLNA library to no effect but now no network resources (DLNA library or renderer) are showing the Playing Now window. All network resources are showing in Explorer and renderer is working directly with my NAS. All Media Network settings are unchanged. I am on about my tenth version of MC and never seen this before.

Thanks for all the fixed and new features in this last batch of releases!  All the new things I've tested have worked great.

The only issue I'm seeing is that the load button for DSP Studio presets is still not working correctly.

This has been confirmed by several people: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,125039.msg866307.html#msg866307

Just want to add my support to the comments by other posters re thanks for all these fixes etc. The work Matt and the team do to keep JRiver functional and continuously improved is noted and much appreciated.

A couple of the issues listed have been affecting my JRiver, especially the one when the system deadlocks when under heavy load.

Thanks guys!  ;D

Actually Matt, I'm afraid I've found a problem with GroupCountQuery.  It does not always return correct results.

I have 6 movies directed by John Houston...

If I use GroupCountQuery(Director,Name) in an expression column, it returns 6, which is correct.

If I use it the File Info Panel in Theater View, it always returns 1.  That's wrong; it should always return 6, regardless of where it's used.

For a bit more info, it seems to be returning the number of matches in the current view. (and the current view for the file info panel is always 1 file).  For example, if I use a Panes view and filter by Studio, the same function stops returning 6 and instead returns 2, which is the number of movies John Huston directed with the currently filtered Studio in the view.  That's not correct.  It should only return 2 if the expression was GroupCountQuery(Director;Studio, Name).

GroupCountQuery(Director,Name) should return the same result globally, no matter which of that Director's movies you look at and no matter the view.  That's what we discussed.  A function that always returns 1 in the file info panel has no utility at all.

GroupSummaryQuery has the same problem: it seems to be context sensitive. That means it can't be used in Theater View either.

Thanks...

Could it be that "Lookup Date From Google" is not working with 26.0.80?

It was working pretty good with 26.0.73 were it was originally implemented, but it doesn't seem to work at all with 26.0.80. I've tried with a dozen albums and I didn't find a single result.

Not sure exactly when it happened, but Composer images stopped working recently.

I use the following format for composer names: Shostakovich, Dmitri (1906-1975)

Until recently, if I had a file named "Shostakovich, Dmitri (1906-1975).jpg" in the Cover Art/Composers folder, the image would display when the composer name was "Shostakovich, Dmitri (1906-1975)".

I have some vocal collections with works from many different composers, and when I don't have much by that composer in my collection I don't bother converting the imported tag info. Those images still display correctly. For example, when the composer's name is "Alter Yechiel Karniol", Google finds a file matching that name and the composer image still displays. It looks like MC is now using a Google search all the time and no longer uses the files I added to Cover Art/Composers.

Try removing the year from the image filenames.  We recently changed.

I did try that, and then forced a few refreshes but no joy. Is there a way to make it clear the cache or reload from the folder?

I run Spotify separately from MC26. It works fine until I open MC26, then Spotify displays the message "Cannot play this song". MC26 shuts down Spotify playback. Know of a friendly solution? Other MC versions never had this problem.

Change the setting in MC for Exclusive Mode.  Or stop MC, not just pause it.

After this update (assuming this is the update the windows application asked automatically to perform), my HEVC  .TS files are not outputting ATMOS and are stuttering - playing from local HHD drive.

Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Can I rollback to another previous release, in order to re-test my issue ?

What is the expected behavior?

I collapse Playing Now... close MC and restart... Playing Now is collapsed, but expands on it's own after a few seconds.

Striker, make sure you are running .80.

What you describe was an issue with previous versions, but that behavior was recently changed.  Now, in 26.0.80, if you collapse Playing Now, it shoud stay collapsed after a restart and not auto-expand a few seconds later.

I now have .80 and have tested on multiple machines.  For me it now stays collapsed and does not auto-expand.

I remember the request and liked the idea.

I am running .80, just installed it today over .30.  Since I was not getting the expected behavior, I reverted back to .30 to test... and then back to .80.  PlayingNow still expands a few seconds after starting MC.  I am running the 32 bit version.

I just updated to MC 26.0.80 and now right-clicking on a media sub type=TV Show file and then "Get Movie & TV Info" does not seem to be working anymore.  However, it works for media sub type=Movie.  Get Movie & TV Info was working 4 days ago using MC 26.0.69 prior to updating.

I'm struggling to understand how GroupCountQuery works.

I have a pane that I want to have a column has the counts of albums by artist, and then a column to filter that by the artists with a certain number of albums.

So the first part was relatively simple, Created an expression to group by Album Artist, and display Album Artist (GroupCount(Album). That creates a nice list of the artist with the album count in brackets after.

But then trying to create a filter column that just has the counts in, so I can select just the album artists that have a single album, or 20 or whatever isn't working for me.

That filter column i've been using the syntax GroupCountQuery(Album Artist, Album) so I would expect to see a list of numbers defining the album counts I have, but I always get 0 and 1. 0 Being artists with an album that has no album title, and 1 being artists that any albums that have a title. I've tried the fields either way round, same result.

As there are no wiki entries on the syntax I assume I must be missing something simple, but as it's such a new expression, and it will be extremely useful to me if I can get it to work, I'm guessing there are some nuances that are just not apparent.

Is there currently an issue with TVDB lookup? I'm seeing really intermittent results there in MC 26.0.80 , even though information exists in TVDB. Weird.

But seeing the same as post #11--so there is probably a bug.

Matt:  Having of problems with hi res tracks.  Sometimes noise, then tracks speeds up.  Using v26.0.80 and using USB audio -WASAPI to A Woo Fireflies Headphone DAC/AMP.  Sample rates at 9600, and 192 play with pops and then speed up.  Tracks at a Sample Rate of 352 Crash Media Center. Some tracks play fine.  I tried bringing the rates down to 48000 under Output Format and that prevented a crash but there was still noise.  I also tried resampling the tracks to 48000 in Audacity.  That corrected the problem.

I thought for sure the problem was the DAC though it is advertised to support these rates. Woo's response was to trying another player.  In another system, I do not have any problems using Media Center and a USB Schiit Bi-frost DAC which supports a sample rate up to 192.  This is why I was blaming the Woo but VCL plays the tracks at 352 fine through the Woo.  I've expended my limited troubleshooting ability.  Is there a  configuration setting I'm missing?

Thanks

Larry
